Atlantis Prep 1st Grade Visits Manasquan Branch

June 03, 2013

Diane Onto, Manager of the Manasquan branch, had the pleasure of giving the 1st grade class of Atlantis Prep School in Wall Township a tour of the Manasquan branch on May 30th.  She started out by introducing the students to the staff and explaining what the employees’ jobs were in the bank.

Then the students listened to an explanation of checking and saving accounts. Diane showed and explained the night drop, teller stations and tools, and then the group headed to see the main vault. There was a lot of interest in how the vault is secured and what transpires if an alarm were to go off. Safe deposit boxes were discussed and why it is a more secure place to keep important papers and valuables as opposed to the home. The teller box vaults and the money vaults were shown and explained, but of course not opened. There was a lot of interest in what would happen should someone get accidentally locked in the vault. They explained the air supply system and the phone that is accessible.

The coin machine was the big hit of the day. Diane ran some coins through the machine and explained the process. The students were thrilled to see how the coins are separated and put into separate bags behind the scenes. Also discussed were cameras, dual control and other security measures that are used daily. The students also saw the drive thru, how the boxes operate as well as the ATM. After coming back into the main building, the bank employees answered some questions and gave each student a little parting gift from the bank.
