Manasquan Bank President Jim Vaccaro Named Chairman of NJBankers Board

June 12, 2017

Manasquan Bank President James S. Vaccaro was named Chairman of the New Jersey Bankers Association (NJBankers) during the group’s 113th Annual Conference, held on May 17-21.

Vaccaro was sworn in on May 20 alongside First Vice Chairman, William D. Moss, and Second Vice Chairman, Thomas J. Kemly. Together, they will lead a 23-member board of directors toward NJBankers’ initiatives for 2017-2018. To kick off the new chapter, Vaccaro delivered a message of promise and challenge.

“As bankers, we need to better understand consumers’ preferences, thoughts and behavior,” Vaccaro said. “We then need to educate and mentor a talented and motivated workforce. We must be nimble, innovative and encourage independent thought. Above all, we need to be energetic and passionate.”

Previously named Second Vice Chair in 2014 and 2015, and First Vice Chair in 2016, Vaccaro continues to add to NJBankers’ 113-year legacy. He brings vast experience to his role as Chairman, including more than 35 years in the financial and insurance industries. Prior to joining Manasquan Bank as President in 2012, he was the Executive Vice President and COO of Springpoint Senior Living, a nonprofit provider of senior housing and health care. He also served as CEO of Central Jersey Bancorp, and is presently a member of the Board of Trustees of Monmouth University, RWJ/ Barnabas Corporation, and the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey.

NJBankers consists of 98 banking institutions of all banking charters headquartered or with branches in New Jersey. There are also 232 associate members providing goods and services to the banking community, and 18 employees supporting the organization’s mission of representing its members interests before state, federal and regulatory authorities while promoting sound business practices and idea sharing in the financial services sector.
