MANASQUAN, NJ (October 6, 2014) – Throughout 2014, Manasquan Savings Bank has been celebrating its 140th anniversary with a series of community and charitable events. On Saturday, October 25 the festivities continue with a free Community Day celebration to be held at Squan Plaza in Manasquan from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event will include a range of free activities, carnival games, free food, and giveaways. All area residents are invited to attend this family friendly event.
“For the entirety of our 140 years, working to build a strong community has remained our number-one focus,” said James S. Vaccaro, President and CEO of Manasquan Savings Bank. “We look forward to celebrating this milestone with the many neighbors and friends who have made that endeavor so very rewarding.”
Community Day attendees can look forward to a carnival-like atmosphere. Children will enjoy free pony rides, along with skeeball, water races, basketball and other amusements popular with kids of all ages. Complementing that will be a selection of free carnival snacks, from cotton candy and fried Oreo’s to funnel cake and popcorn. A grill set-up with plenty of seating will also be available, with hot selections including hot dogs, hamburgers and more at no charge. A pumpkin painting station will be set up for anyone who wants to get artistic. Music will be provided courtesy of 106.3 Thunder and 94.3 The Point, who will be on site and giving away prizes of their own.
The bank has planned numerous giveaways for the event, including a grand-prize raffle(see contest rules) for a hand-crafted surfboard made by local surfboard company, Rozbern. The creation of the surfboard was documented during the filming of one of Manasquan Savings Bank’s most recent business lending TV spots. Those looking to upgrade their checking accounts will be able to take advantage of the bank’s “Easy as Pie” promotion (begins October 20th) throughout the day, which includes a voucher for a free pie on sign-up for a Kasasa® rewards account.
In keeping with the bank’s community focus, a food drive will be held alongside the fun. Event attendees are invited to bring canned donations to help the bank reach its goal of collecting 140 pounds in one day for the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. A list of most-needed items can be found on the organization’s website. A Shred Truck will also be available for people who would like to have documents securely shredded and recycled on-site. Mixed office paper only (no magazines or newspapers). Materials limited to two file boxes or 50 lbs.
“As we look forward to our next 140 years, we know that success means staying true to our roots of providing hand-crafted banking solutions that truly speak to the community’s needs,” Vaccaro said. “We hope to see many new and familiar faces at the event.”
