Manasquan Bank Awards $3,750 in Scholarship Funds to Local Students

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ (August 13, 2020) – Manasquan Bank is proud to announce the recipients of its Introductory Academic Scholarships Awards for 2020. Three students were selected out of the sixty nine essay submissions and were awarded with one of three tiers of scholarship funds to assist in their continuing education.

The scholarship program was available to students from various school districts in New Jersey who submitted essays through EverFi’s National Financial Literacy Bee (NFLB), sponsored by Manasquan Bank. The NFLB consisted of a five-part course and an essay contest that was designed to teach real-world financial education skills in a fun and engaging manner to students in grades seven through ten.

“We remain committed to providing financial literacy resources to students within our communities,” said James S. Vaccaro, Manasquan Bank’s Chairman, President and CEO. “Through programs such as The National Financial Literacy Bee, and the Academic Scholarship Awards, our efforts support continuing education and deepen student educational commitment. We are proud to award scholarships to these students and congratulate them for working diligently to achieve success” continued Vaccaro.

An internal scholarship review panel read each essay and selected the three winners who wrote about their financial dreams and how they plan to achieve them. The first-place essay winner was Meahan Azmi, 16 years old, from Bayville who received a $2,000 scholarship fund, followed by second and third place, Owen MacCarrick,16 years old, from Wall Township, and John Marcucci,16 years old, from Manasquan winning $1,000 and $750 in scholarship funds respectively.

Manasquan Bank congratulates the award recipients and applauds every student who submitted an essay through the Bank sponsored NFLB program.
